Boulder field in the highest mountain chain Lysogory in the Swietokrzyskie Mountains, Mount Swiety Krzyz, Poland. The ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyskie boulder fields were created as a result of weathering of the late Cambrian quartzite sandstones in the period of the Quaternary. The main factor of the boulder fields creation was the climate, i.e. changes of temperature - freezing and thawing of the background; freezing of water in the cracks and fractures causing the disintegration of rocks. The name 'goÅ‚oborze' refers only to the ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyski region. The 'GoÅ‚oborze' became the symbol of the ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyskie Mountains.
