  • Cover photo description:
  • 3 toed sloth (Bradypus variegatus) found in the peruvian amazon river area. It is a endangered specie. Many locals hunt them for their fur or for domestic pets. There have been many cases too of smuggling of this specie across the boarder, private zoos pay as much as half a million US dollar to have one of this mammal in their zoo. Sloth have very slow metabolism that is why they move so slowly. This 3 toed sloth's diet mainly consist of tree leaves. Even though they are slow movers, they are good swimmers. They can swim across the river to get to another tree. They can turn their head almost 360 degrees and they seem to have a constant smile on their faces.
