The Flemish architect, Everaert Spoorwater has played an important role in the construction. The tower is from the early sixteenth century and was designed by Antoon I Keldermans, but was never fully completed. This church building is a famous landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction and one of the top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments.
