- Author: Rodolfocastrillo
- Cover photo description:
- The Palace of the Iturriza, also called Quinta Isabela, is a construction of the late nineteenth century commissioned by Don Juan Miguel Iturriza. The complex is a sample of the colonial houses where the wealthy families of Valencia lived at that time, inspired by European romantic models. It is a kind of palace surrounded by gardens with a tower-viewpoint, balustrades and a porch. In 1935 the palace was bought by the Castrillos, who modernized the construction including bathroom, kitchen and electrical installation, and changed the decoration. In 1991 the palace was acquired by the Carabobo State Government. Currently, the Palace of the Iturriza is the headquarters of the City Museum.
