- Photo title: The gilt bronze head of the Roman goddess Sulis Minerva,
- Author: TheSlowWalkers
- Cover photo description:
- The head which is thought to have six gilded layers, was discovered in 1727 at Bath in Somerset and was originally made a little larger than life. Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom and Sulis is the Celtic goddess of healing and sacred waters. So, it appears the two became one for the worshippers in Roman Britain. It is on display at the Roman Baths, Bath, England. Photo taken June 2017.
