  • Starting out as just a one-room school house on what is now downtown San Francisco, under the name of Saint Ignatius Academy as a Jesuit Catholic school, it has survived both a few location moves as well as name changes, and continuous expansions. From the 55 acre main campus on Fulton Street, one of many former cemeteries in the city, this one having been the Masonic one, the school moved here in 1927, and is still growing into the land. The school has been fully co-ed and non-sectarian since 1964. The John Lo Schiavo, S.J Center for Science and Innovation opened in 2013, and is the schools first building that meets the LEEDS Gold standard.
