  • Cover photo description:
  • Zadar is the economic and cultural center of northern Dalmatia and is the fifth largest city in Croatia. The city is rich with many interesting monuments, among which the real pearl and also the symbol of Zadar is the early Romanesque church of St. Donata built in the 9th century. The temple has an unusual cylindrical shape and fragments of earlier Roman structures were used for construction, well visible both inside and outside walls, and two antique columns were also moved inside. Currently, the church no longer has any religious functions and in its interior thanks to the great acoustics are often held concerts of classical music.
