- St. Saviour’s Cathedral besides being the seat of the Cathedra of the Lord Bishop of Oudtshoorn, also functions as a Parish Church. It is the local Parish Church for Catholics living in central Oudtshoorn. Those living outside the area are also welcome to join by attending the Church and applying to be placed on the Parish Roll. Membership forms can be found at the back of the church or in the sacristy. The Present St. Saviour’s Cathedral Building The Cathedral building was designed by Bergamasco, Duncan & James, a Cape Town based firm of architects. The completed building was consecrated on 06 August 1967, The Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord on Mount Tabor, the date representing the celebration of the annual patronal feast of the Cathedral.
