  • Cover photo description:
  • Lizards lat. Lacertilia, formerly Sauria - a suborder of reptiles from the order of scaly Unlike snakes, most lizards with the exception of some legless forms have to some degree developed limbs. Although legless lizards look like snakes, they have a sternum, and most of them have girdles of limbs; unlike the snakes, the left and right halves of the maxillary apparatus are still adhered. A characteristic feature of the suborder is also incomplete ossification of the anterior part of the brain box and no more than two sacral vertebrae.
