- Pictured is the back side of Khue Van Pavilion viewed from the third courtyard of the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam. The Temple of Literature is a Temple of Confucius in Hanoi, northern Vietnam. The temple hosts the Imperial Academy, Vietnam`s first national university. The temple was built in 1070 at the time of Emperor Ly Thanh Tong. The Khue Van pavilion was built in 1805 on four white-washed stone stilts. The top is red-colored with two circular windows and an elaborate roof. Inside, a bronze bell hangs from the ceiling to be rung on auspicious occasions.
