- Pictured is The Spirit of Flight Bronze located at Love Field in Dallas, Texas. It was created in 1961 by American sculptor and teacher Charles Umlauf. He won a contest for the sculpture commission authorized by the Dallas Historical Commission and funded by Leo Corrigan and the City of Dallas. Robert Perry was the design architect for the pools and obelisk. The full sculpture consists of a twenty-three foot obelisk, a seventeen foot winged man, and six groups of three birds.
