- Photo title: Bears in ZOO-Bears are carnivoran mammals of the family Ursidae
- Author: Mirosk
- Cover photo description:
- The adult bear grows to a length of 2 to 3 m, the tail measures 5 to 20 cm and reaches a weight of 100 to 350 kg. Brown bears are strongly built with a typical muscular hump in the shoulder area. The labs have non-retractable claws. Sexual dimorphism in size is very small, but males tend to be twice as heavier than females that have smaller and lighter bones. The hair of brown bears is dark brown, blond to black. They live for 25 years in the wild, a little more captive in captivity.
