  • Strâmba Monastery is one of the old Orthodox monasteries of Transylvania, established after some sources, in the 15th century, in the locality of PăduriÈ™, Sălaj county. The beginnings of the monastery date from 1470, according to the documentary researches of the historian Augustin Bunea and the assertions of the ecumenical Nichifor in 1761. After the cessation of the activity for about 280 years, in 1993 it was decided to re-establish it. The name probably comes from a `crooked and lame` believer who left the church place. It is located on the outskirts of PăduriÈ™ village, being the only monastery of monks in Sălaj county
