- Photo title: Plaque to commemorate Giuseppe Piolti de Bianchi, Sforza Castle in Milan, Italy
- Author: Djpillow
- Cover photo description:
- Pictured is a plaque to commemorate Giuseppe Piolti de Bianchi by Donato Barcaglia on a wall inside the Sforza Castle in Milan, northern Italy. He promoted a Mazzinian movement against the Austrian government in 1853 that miserably failed. The conspirators were executed at the Castle. He escaped the gallows and later wrote the story of that motion. The castle was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke on Milan, on the remnants of a 14th century fortification. It was the princely residence of the Duke.
