- Author: Djpillow
- Cover photo description:
- Pictured is a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in the Sforza Castle in Milan, northern Italy. It was sculpted by Giovanni Dugnani in 1729. The castle was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, Duke on Milan, on the remnants of a 14th century fortification. It was the princely residence of the Duke. John of Nepumuk was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of the Romans and King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional.
