- Photo title: The small mountain lake Fuscher Lacke and the Exhibition `Construction of the road`, on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
- Author: Rechitansorin
- Cover photo description:
- This mountain lake is located in the Hohe Tauern on the main Alpine ridge of the Central Alps in the Pinzgau region. Next to the lake there is an original preserved street keeper`s house, in which a documentation of the history of the construction of the road and the former living conditions of the workers are shown. The exhibition documents the architectural history of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. During construction work from 1930 to 1935, the peak of employment was 2,357 counted workers in August / September 1931. On average, about 1,700 people worked on the road each summer. The workers were housed in various camps north and south of the main Alpine ridge. Many pictures and information in this exhibition describe the difficult conditions under which this scenic road was built. In the summer of 2016, the exhibition was updated and reopened at the end of August. Fusher Lake, Grossglockner High Alpine Road, Austria, Europe
