- Cover photo description:
- Ravan dahan is an Indian fest in which a villain named Ravan who lived thousands of year back is burnt. Ravan was the emperor of Sri Lanka. He was killed because of his own sister Surpanakha who was very influenced by a person named Ram but he was having a wife already whom he loved more than everything and also didn`t like Surpanakha. So she asks his younger brother Lakshman to marry her and on rejection she starts forcing him so he cuts her nose and send her back to Sri Lanka. When she tells this story to his brother Ravan, he kidnaps the wife of Ram named Sita. When Ram come to know about this, he starts a war with the help of monkeys with Ravan Also I would like to mention here that Ram was the emperor of Ayodhya an Indian state and was living in Forest for 14 years because of his aunt`s conspiracy so was having many political benefits and because of the presence of sea between India and Sri Lanka they built a bridge which is actually present till now and defeats Ravan Note: Ravan was having a blessing that he can not die untill he is shooted in the navel and was having 10 faces as you can see in the picture, because of these 10 faces he was also known as Dashanand. From that time the day is celebrated as Dashehra.
