- Pictured is a monument to King Albert IER in Le Square Albert IER in Antibes, France. The bust has inscribed at it`s base 1875 - 1934, the years of his birth and death. He was King of Belgium from 1909 until his death in 1834 in a mountain climbing accident. From the First World War he was nicknamed the King Soldier or King Knight. The monument bears a plaque with the French words AU ROI Soldat, which in English means To the Soldier King. The statue is flanked by two small lion sculptures.
