  • Gol Gumbaz Archaeological Museum side close up: Gol Gumbaz at Bijapur is the mausoleum of king Ibrahim Adil Shah II, Adil Shah Dynasty. Construction of the tomb, located in Vijayapura formerly Bijapur, Karnataka, India, was started in 1626 and completed in 1656. The name is based on Gola gummata derived from Gol Gombadh meaning `circular dome`. It follows the style of Indo-islamic architecture. The Gol Gumbaz at Bijapur in Karnatak was built in the 17th century C.E This grand building houses the burial of Ibrahim Adil Shah II. Even a slight whisper by a crow standing in this gallery can be heard everywhere and if somebody claps from here its echo can be heard several times.
