- Sofia church is a parish church in Sofia parish in Stockholm diocese. It is located at Södermalm in Stockholm The church was designed by architect Gustaf Hermansson after an architectural competition in 1899 and was erected in Rhinelandic transitional romance. The building was started in 1902 on the highest point of the White Mountains, 46 meters above sea level. The foundation stone was laid on May 15, 1903 by King Oscar II. Four years later, the church, which is named after Oscar II`s Queen Sofia, was inaugurated.
