The bronze used in the plaque was alleged to have been recovered from the Maine. The Maine Monument was dedicated May 30, 1913. The sculptor was Attilio Piccirilli and the architect was Van Buren Magonigle. It is located at the Merchant`s Gate entrance to Central Park at Columbus Circle.
