- Photo title: Silbury Hill in Avebury stone circle
- Author: Thelegacyofthesoul
- Cover photo description:
- One of the most impressive monuments in the area is known as Silbury Hill. A mound or artificial hill about 40 metres high and almost 170 metres in diameter, much like Micerinos in Egypt. It has been known as the English pyramid. The date of creation of the tumulus is in 2600 BC. There are many mysteries that hide Silbury Hill, it is believed, again that it was a burial place. The name Sil would be from a supposed king named Sil, and ‘bury’ burial.
