  • This statue is remember the Fisher Wivers that did this. Fisher Wivers and some would take their children with them. The Northwest Fishing Ports ie Aberdeen, Peterhead, Also as far as Wick. Load up their Baskets with Herring and Mackerel and Herring. Just outside Wick, Caithness at a place called the Whalgo steps, which are 360 steps up aside cliff. And then would walk 9 or 10 miles with the basket on her back to Wick. The basket would have Herring and Mackerel. At Wick Harbour, another lot of Women would gut the fish and pack in salt and be into barrels. When they we& x27;re not carrying fish they work on the land ie Farms? This happens up to the 1950s.
