  • Cover photo description:
  • Pictured is closeup of the dedication for a now non-functioning triple bubbler-head fountain that was given to citizens of Oak Cliff, in 1915, by the Reverend George W. Owens. Erected at what was then called Library Plaza, the ornamental drinking fountain was a gift of gratitude for many kindnesses shown to Owens during his long and serious illness. He was a pastor and entrepreneur and helped organize the historic Oak Cliff Methodist Church right across the street from this memorial. The memorial stands in a lovely garden with flowers and hedges at the corner of Marsalis and Jefferson.
