It was during his rule that the famed traveler, Ibn Batuta visited India and he stayed in Delhi for several years on the insistence of the Sultan, who always showed magnanimity towards intellectuals & travelers alike. And it is from Ibn Batuta`s written memoirs that we get a close view about the rule of Muhammad bin Tughluq and location of many of the important monuments from that era.
