- Cover photo description:
- Yellow Tulip on the plot of land. Tulip lat. Túlipa is a genus of perennial herbaceous bulbous plants in the Lily family Liliaceae, including more than 80 species in modern taxonomies. The center of origin and the greatest diversity of Tulip species is the mountains of Northern Iran, Pamir-Alai and Tien-Shan. During 10-15 million years of evolution, tulips spread to Spain and Morocco in the West, to Transbaikalia in the East, and to the Sinai Peninsula in the South. In the North, human-introduced populations of the forest Tulip have reached Scotland and the southern coast of Scandinavia. Today, tulips are very often used to decorate flower beds, Alpine slides and are the most common garden flowers with a variety of colors and shapes.
