- Cover photo description:
- Lilac flowers in spring. Lilac Latin: SyrÃnga is a genus of shrubs belonging to the Olive family Latin: Oleaceae. The genus includes about thirty species distributed in the wild in South-Eastern Europe Hungary, the Balkans and in Asia, mainly in China. All types of lilac differ in beautiful colors, which is why they are bred in gardens. Especially widespread is the common lilac Syringa vulgaris L. - a luxurious shrub, extremely hardy, which grows well in the open air both in the South and in the North of Europe and decorates gardens in spring with large inflorescences of its fragrant flowers. In addition to the main form with purple flowers, varieties with white and pinkish flowers have appeared in the culture. They are also used for distillation in greenhouses, so that almost all winter you can have fresh lilac flowers.
