Cover photo info
- Photo title: Statue pedestal after Junipero Serro statue toppled,1.
- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- In the wake of protests for the Black Lives Matter movement after the murder of George Floyd by police, Americans across the country reevaluated their own collective histories. Many of the `Pillars of American History` have now been accepted as racist slave owners, and their images removed from public spaces. Junipero Serro, best know as the founder of the California Missions, used the American natives as forced slaves to build his missions, and his statue was toppled and removed, from Golden Gate Park.
