  • The ancient town of Masangxi is located on the edge of the Yangtze River by Masangxi Bridge. In the heyday of the late Qing Dynasty, Masangxi was once the largest ferry crossing on the Yangtze River in Chongqing, known as the `Dadukou`. The ancient town got its name from the Ma Sang tree, and the name of `Da Du Kou` originated from Ma Sang River. At the beginning of 2016, based on the restoration and reconstruction of the original site, the street was officially opened on January 24, 2017. The ancient town is close to Yidu Park, Guo Xuanchang Sculpture Art Museum, and Chongqing Industrial Museum. The ancient town of Dadukou is a typical mountainous street town landform on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. The whole block faces the river and is divided into four steps, with a total of three streets and nine alleys. In addition to traditional buildings, the ancient town scenic spot also has landscapes such as Masangxi Bridge, Laocheng-Chongqing Railway, and the old wharf. The name of Dadukou originated from the well-known free ferry along the Yangtze River. The history of Dadukou has left its mark here since the Stone Age. From the Warring States to the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it is represented by the ancient town of Dadukou. The Yangtze River Ferry records the historical heritage here for thousands of years.
