Lighthouses are all about light. It is therefore highly fitting that the museum is also all about light. From your first encounter with full-size lighthouse lenses on the ground floor and through much of the rest of the building, moving beams of light illuminate many of the items on view. Fraserburgh is on the Northwest side of Scotland. It is one of the bigger Fishing Harbours in Scotland. Founded in the 16th century as Faithlie, ‘The Broch’ became Fraserburgh in 1601.
