  • Cover photo description:
  • This photograph has been taken in 2020 at Ratnapura Sri Lanka. Ratnapura is famous for gems in Sri Lanka. Lot of gem mines can be seen in Ratnapura Sri Lanka. People dig the floor to search gems and make large holes. When they fill by water they use an mine engine to pump out water from them. They make canals to send this water. This is such a canal. But there is no water at this movement. We can see various kinds of trees in this picture which grow in down country wet forests of Sri Lanka. However this is not an environmental friendly thing. Because water that pump by engine can contain oils and heavy metals and can pollute soil and underground water.
