- The Pokrovskaya Tower is located in the southwestern corner of the fortifications of the Okolny town of the Pskov Fortress, on the banks of the Velikaya River. A monument of history and culture of federal significance. The most powerful fortress tower in Pskov, one of the largest in Europe - its outer circumference is 90 m, five tiers. It was erected by Pskov stonemasons at the end of the 15th - beginning of the 16th centuries, it was repeatedly renovated in the 17th century. The tower is part of the so-called Pokrovsky complex of the historical part of Pskov. It also includes: Pokrovskie gates, part of the fortress wall, Peter`s bastions, the Church of the Intercession and the Nativity from Prolom in the Corner and a monument to the 300th anniversary of the Defense of 1582.
