Covering an area of 660 hectares, Nara Park includes the Todaiji, Kofukuji and Shosakura temples from the Tianping Period (710-784). It is a magnificent, tree-lined historical park. The most famous is the herd of deer at Haruhi Daishisha, which is taken good care of as a messenger of the gods.
