- Cover photo description:
- Colle Santa Lucia is a comune municipality in the Province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto. In Colle Santa Lucia, on the top of the hill, stands the church dedicated to Santa Lucia, of ancient origins and one of the few remaining sacred buildings still surrounded by a curtain, where the cemetery was traditionally located.nIn a dominant position with a splendid view of Monte Pore, Val Fiorentina and the mighty Pelmo and Civetta, the Church of Santa Lucia is worth a visit for its particularity, rich in tradition and charm. The first evidence of its existence dates back to 1336, but it is probable that the Church already existed in the 13th century. Originally built in the Gothic style, it has often been the subject of reconstruction and expansion, but still bears some Gothic evidence such as the entrance door and the rose window above. Overall it is currently characterized by a Baroque and Rococo style. Italy, Europe.
