  • Viaducts of Hranice are three parallel railway bridges on railway line 271 in front of the railway station Hranice na MoravÄ› of the original railway of the company c.k. the privileged Northern Railways of Emperor Ferdinand. The viaducts were declared a cultural monument of the Czech Republic in 2007. In the years 1844 to 1846, a brick bridge was built over the valley of the river Velička in front of the station Hranice na MoravÄ›. The bridge has 32 brick arches and reached a total length of 448.5 m. The highest arch had a clear height of 11.38 m. During construction, up to 2,500 people worked here and 20 people died. The bridge was put into operation with one track in 1846. In 1873, due to the double-tracking of the railway line, a second stone bridge was built, which runs parallel to the brick bridge and has 32 semicircular vaults. The length is 426.5 m, the gap between the bridges 2.5 m and they touch in places of associated pillars. The gap is covered with concrete slabs.
