Cover photo info
- Photo title: Low-angle shot of the upper part of the Santa Justa Elevator. Lisbon.
- Author: Txarofranco
- Cover photo description:
- The Santa Justa elevator saves a 45-meter drop. It was built in wrought iron between the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard, who was inspired by the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. Each floor is decorated with different details and shapes. It is still in operation today and it is one of the main tourist attractions in Lisbon. In this low-angle photograph, the elevator is silhouetted against the sky between two almost equal buildings.
