Cover photo info
- Photo title: American Pekin Duck, 1.
- Author: Peachpappa
- Cover photo description:
- Wild ducks, or mallards, have been domesticated in China for at least 3,000 years. The American Pekin Duck is one such breed, and is a beautiful white. It is related to the German Pekin, in that both started from the same stock way back, but were cross bred with a different duck. All ducks are mallards, aquatic birds that feed on the top of the water as opposed to diving under the water. They make very good ornamental ducks, and they are also raised for their meat. As seen November 2021.
