  • Calmont is a mountain at Mosel valley between Ediger-Eller and Bremm. With more than 65 degrees it is one of the steepest vineyard hills in the world, through Calmond is just 380 meters high. In the valley the Mosel shows a dramatic curve with an old monastery ruin on the inside, Kloster Stuben. The area is characterized by the vineyards, both in the valley and on the hills. On top of the mountain a Roman temple was found and reconstructed. The different writing of Calmont developed over the centuries, with French, German and Latin influence.
