- Author: Tonsnijders
- Cover photo description:
- Hargen aan Zee is a seaside resort in the north of the municipality of Bergen in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is actually not a village, but only consists of a large parking lot in the dunes and a beach bar. The only access road leads to Camperduin to the north. Halfway this road is a gas extraction station. The seaside resort was built in the early 1970s. The name Hargen aan Zee was probably chosen because of the name of the original path leading there, the Hargerzeeweg. Out of season, the access road and car park are popular for official or unofficial driving lessons. Hargen by Sea is all about sports, games and entertainment every year, as HargenbySail takes place on the first weekend of July. Water sports competitions are held at sea, and there are hundreds of beach volleyball players, football players, volleyball players and Frisbee players on the beach. There is a large party tent in the parking lot where music is played for all ages.
