Cover photo info
- Photo title: wild waterfall of the Elz melting season
- Author: Markusvolk
- Cover photo description:
- The Elz is a small river in the Eifel, sometimes also called Elzbach. The river has some waterfall, with the one near Burg Pyrmont being the biggest. In summer this waterfall is idyllic with small calm lake above. When the snow in the Eifel starts melting, the waterfall becomes a furious wild flood. Driftwood can be thrown to the other side of the lake sometimes, when it passed the bridge with the wavebreaker. The bridge crossing the Elz close to the waterfall leaves the force of water unseen. From below the waterfall, anybody at the shore can feel the wind generated by thsi furious waterfall. In 2021 there was still some snow around when the waterfall was that huge
