Cover photo info
- Photo title: tombstone of the fourteenth century
- Author: Saifulhadi
- Cover photo description:
- an inscription carved on a pair of tombstones found in Meunye Tujoh Village, East Pirak District, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. One inscription was written in Arabic language and script, and another in Classical Malay and Old Sumatran script.[1] in verse form. The contents of the two inscriptions are not exactly the same, and tell of the death of the king& x27;s son in 1379 or 1389 AD & x28;781 or 791 H& x29;. This inscription is considered important partly because it shows the earliest form of Malay syair in the 14th century; much older than the opinion that refers to the works of Hamzah Fansuri in the 16th century.
