  • Dedicated to St Andrew the Apostle, it is the seat of the Bishop of Bath and Wells, built in a gothic style from around 1175 to replace an earlier church on the site since 705. Grade I listed it has 10 Bells. It is festooned with Stained glass, carvings, misericords, monuments. an astronomical clock from 1325, and a library built between 1430 and 1508. The artist J. M. W. Turner visited Wells in 1795 making sketches and a water colour in now in the Tate gallery.
