  • Fairchild PT-19 (developed from the Fairchild M-62) was a single-engine trainer for basic training of flyelever. It was developed by Fairchild Aircraft, but was built under license by several manufacturers. This aircraft flew for the first time in May 1939, and participated once in a tender process, with 17 other trainers. Fairchild won the tender, and already in September, the contract signed with the army. The plane was called PT-19 (Primary Trainer). The first batch consisted of 275 aircraft. The engine was a 175-hp Ranger L-440-1. By 1941 had been initiated with the mass production and the production line was expanded to Aeronca and St. Louis Aircraft Corporation. Later, the aircraft produced also by Howard Aircraft Corporation in the United States and Fleet Aircraft Corporation in Canada.
