  • Cover photo description:
  • Pictured is the south side of the Arch of Caracalla at the Archaeological Site of Volubilis in Morocco. The arch was erected sometime between December 216 and April 217 AD by the council of Volubilis in honour of the emperor Caracalla who bestowed Roman citizenship on its inhabitants and exempted them from paying taxes. Volubilis is a Unesco World Heritage site, listed as an exceptionally well preserved example of a large Roman colonial town on the fringes of the Empire.
