  • Cover photo description:
  • The Wrentit, Chimaera fasciata, found along the coast of western North America, is an unusual little bird with a long tail that is not seen out in the open very often. They mate for life, only a few months after hatching. After bonding, both help in making the nest, incubate the eggs, which only take about two weeks, and feed the new born. Not only will they build their nests in Coyote bush and among Backberry, but also in Poison Oak. As seen in the San Francisco Botanical Garden of Golden Gate Park 30 March 2022.
