- Cover photo description:
- San Francisco and the Summer of Love, 1967. The two seem forever interlinked. Yet lurking in the background, very briefly, Charles Manson lived in the Haight Ashbury district, the very hart of hippie culture. In March 1967, Charles Manson was released from prison a second time, from Terminal Island just off of Long Beach California. Within a month, he found himself in the Haight Ashbury district. He stayed just the one summer, with a growing following, before moving to Southern California and the crimes of mass murder to shock the world. Yet this apartment building on Cole Street is still associated with him. As seen 30 June 2022.
