- Watching these types of insects work is like watching a ballet. They have such pretty movements that often cannot be seen till you really focus on them. This little guy swooped in to get the nectar from this bee balm flower. You can see his long tongue coming out to collect. I love his see-thru wings and green furry body. His antennas are sticking straight up and his legs hanging down from his body. These particular one is often mistaken for a hawk moth or a sphinx moth. This picture was taken in the East Coventry township nature preserve close to Pottstown in Pennsylvania.
