  • This dragonfly is a yellow color flying insect commonly found in a backyard garden. Adult dragonflies have two pairs of transparent wings and pair of compound eyes. An adult dragonfly's compound eyes have nearly 24,000 ommatidia each. This leads to provide complete vision in the frontal hemisphere. Dragonflies has powerful wings to lift their body and hold their wings horizontally both in flight and at rest. Its leads fly fast and capable of highly accurate aerial ambush,sometimes migrating across oceans. They are commonly found near water level. Dragonflies are hemimetabolous insects and eggs laid inside plant tissues. A clutch may have as many as 1500 eggs,and they take about a week to hatch into aquatic nymphs. Most of a dragonfly's life is spent as a nymph,beneath the water's surface. An adult lifespan may be long as ten weeks or less. Due to loss of wetland habitat threatens dragonfly populations around the world.
