The roof, now fallen, was supported by 134 columns in 16 rows. It was built by Seti I and decoration of the southern wing was completed by the 19th Dynasty pharaoh, Ramesses II. The exterior of the north wall is filled with a panorama of war scenes celebrating the military achievements of Seti I. The large figure in this picture is Seti I smiting a group of prisoners with his mace in the presence of the god Amen-Re.
