  • One of the underground springs at the Roman baths in Bath, originally known as Aquae Sulis.. The baths were constructed around 60-70 AD. One of three springs, together producing over one million litres of water per day at around 45° C. These thermal waters contain many minerals, with high concentrations of calcium, sodium, chloride and sulphate ions. The orange discolouration is caused by Iron dissolved in the water.
